Ring anchor
When the marking wire is pushed out of the cannula, a ring-shaped anchoring element emerges that allows for optimal anchoring in the tissue.
Position stability in the tissue
The ring anchor also prevents the marking thread from accidentally sliding too deep into the fabric.
Double helix design
The marking wire is designed as a double helix (including the ring element). This allows for optimized visibility of the entire wire using ultrasound.
Twisted construction protects the wire from accidental cuts.
Palpable markings on the front of the ring anchor allow the operator to readily expand the incision.
Minimal risk of injury
When applying the marking wire (sliding it out of the cannula), the anchoring element takes the form of a ring, with the tip of the wire touching the ring.
This means there are no sharp edges in the fabric that could otherwise cause accidental injury to the operator.
Reposition
In case of incorrect positioning, the marking wire can be retracted into the cannula and the Mam-O-Guide® BIP can be repositioned.
Direction correction
By rotating the application cannula for fine adjustment, the direction of the annular element can be determined before the wire is pushed out.
